perf probe: Fix to copy the type for raw parameters
Copy type field if it is for raw parameters.
Without this fix, perf probe drops the type if user passes it
for raw parameters (e.g. %ax:u32 will be converted to %ax).

tracing/kprobes: unregister_trace_probe needs to be called under mutex
Comment in unregister_trace_probe() says probe_lock will be held when it
gets called. However there is a case where it might called without the
probe_lock being held. Also since we are traversing the probe_list and
deleting an element from the probe_list, probe_lock should be held.

The event__process function is useful in processing /proc/<pid>/maps. All of
the functions that are called from event__process are defined in util/event.c.
Though its defined in builtin-top.c, it could be reused for perf probe for
uprobes. Hence moving it to util/event.c and exporting the function.

perf events: Fix mmap offset determination
Fix buggy-looking code which unnecessarily adjusts the file offset
fields read from /proc/*/maps.
This may have gone unnoticed since the offset is usually 0 (and the
logic in util/symbol.c may work incorrectly for other offset values).

This fixes a bug introduced in 4af8b35, there is no need to shift pgoff
twice, the show_map_vma routine in fs/proc/task_mmu.c already converts
it from the number of pages to the size in bytes, and that is what
appears in /proc/PID/map.

Testing with valgrind and making perf_session__delete() a nop, so that
we can notice how many maps were actually deleted due to not having any
samples on it:

perf session: Invalidate last_match when removing threads from rb_tree
If we receive two PERF_RECORD_EXIT for the same thread, we can end up
reusing session->last_match and trying to remove the thread twice from
the rb_tree, causing a segfault, so invalidade last_match in
perf_session__remove_thread.
Receiving two PERF_RECORD_EXIT for the same thread is a bug, but its a
harmless one if we make the tool more robust, like this patch does.

perf session: Free the ref_reloc_sym memory at the right place
Which is at perf_session__destroy_kernel_maps, counterpart to the
perf_session__create_kernel_maps where the kmap structure is located, just
after the vmlinux_maps.
Make it also check if the kernel maps were actually created, which may not
be the case if, for instance, perf_session__new can't complete due to
permission problems in, for instance, a 'perf report' case, when a
segfault will take place, that is how this was noticed.
The problem was introduced in d65a458, thus post .35.
This also adds code to release guest machines as them are also created
in perf_session__create_kernel_maps, so should be deleted on this newly
introduced counterpart, perf_session__destroy_kernel_maps.

perf, sched migration: Parameterize cpu height and spacing
Without vertical zoom, it is not possible to see all CPUs in a trace
taken on a larger machine. This patch parameterizes the height and
spacing of CPUs so that you can fit more cpus into the screen.
Ideally we should dynamically size/space the CPU rectangles with some
minimum threshold. Until then, this patch is a stop-gap.

EVT_KEY_DOWN and EVT_LEFT_DOWN events are not bound to the RootFrame
event handler. As a result, zoom/scroll via keyboard events do not
work. This patch adds the missing bindings.

perf, sched migration: Handle ignored migrate out events
Migrate out events may happen on tasks that are not in the
runqueue, for example this is the case for tasks that are
sleeping. In this case, we don't want to log the migrate out
event in the source runqueue because the task is not eventually
in the runqueue and we have already logged its sleep event.
This fixes timeslices that spuriously propagate a sleep event
from the previous timeslice.

This brings a GUI tool that displays an overview of the load
of tasks proportion in each CPUs.
The CPUs forward progress is cut in timeslices. A new timeslice
is created for every runqueue event: a task gets pushed out or
pulled in the runqueue.
For each timeslice, every CPUs rectangle is colored with a red
power that describes the local load against the total load.
This more red is the rectangle, the higher is the given CPU load.
This load is the number of tasks running on the CPU, without
any distinction against the scheduler policy of the tasks, for
now.
Also for each timeslice, the event origin is depicted on the
CPUs that triggered it using a thin colored line on top of the
rectangle timeslice.
These events are:
* sleep: a task went to sleep and has then been pulled out the
runqueue. The origin color in the thin line is dark blue.
* wake up: a task woke up and has then been pushed in the
runqueue. The origin color is yellow.
* wake up new: a new task woke up and has then been pushed in the
runqueue. The origin color is green.
* migrate in: a task migrated in the runqueue due to a load
balancing operation. The origin color is violet.
* migrate out: reverse of the previous one. Migrate in events
usually have paired migrate out events in another runqueue.
The origin color is light blue.
Clicking on a timeslice provides the runqueue event details
and the runqueue state.
The CPU rectangles can be navigated using the usual arrow
controls. Horizontal zooming in/out is possible with the
"+" and "-" buttons.

Debian's ia64 autobuilders have been seeing kernel freeze or reboot
when running the gdb testsuite (Debian bug 588574): dannf bisected to
2.6.32 62eede62dafb4a6633eae7ffbeb34c60dba5e7b1 "mm: ZERO_PAGE without
PTE_SPECIAL"; and reproduced it with gdb's gcore on a simple target.
I'd missed updating the gate_vma handling in __get_user_pages(): that
happens to use vm_normal_page() (nowadays failing on the zero page),
yet reported success even when it failed to get a page - boom when
access_process_vm() tried to copy that to its intermediate buffer.
Fix this, resisting cleanups: in particular, leave it for now reporting
success when not asked to get any pages - very probably safe to change,
but let's not risk it without testing exposure.
Why did ia64 crash with 16kB pages, but succeed with 64kB pages?
Because setup_gate() pads each 64kB of its gate area with zero pages.

cyber2000fb: fix console in truecolor modes
Return value was not set to 0 in setcolreg() with truecolor modes. This causes
fb_set_cmap() to abort after first color, resulting in blank palette - and

cyber2000fb: fix machine hang on module load
I was testing two CyberPro 2000 based PCI cards on x86 and the machine always
hanged completely when the cyber2000fb module was loaded. It seems that the
card hangs when some registers are accessed too quickly after writing RAMDAC
control register. With this patch, both card work.
Add delay after RAMDAC control register write to prevent hangs on module load.

ARM: 6279/1: highmem: fix SMP preemption bug in kmap_high_l1_vipt
smp_processor_id() must not be called from a preemptible context (this
is checked by CONFIG_DEBUG_PREEMPT). kmap_high_l1_vipt() was doing so.
This lead to a problem where the wrong per_cpu kmap_high_l1_vipt_depth
could be incremented, causing a BUG_ON(*depth <= 0); in
kunmap_high_l1_vipt().
The solution is to move the call to smp_processor_id() after the call
to preempt_disable().

perf tools: Release thread resources on PERF_RECORD_EXIT
For long running sessions with many threads with short lifetimes the
amount of memory that the buildid process takes is too much.
Since we don't have hist_entries that may be pointing to them, we can
just release the resources associated with each thread when the exit
(PERF_RECORD_EXIT) event is received.
For normal processing we need to annotate maps with hits, and thus
hist_entries pointing to it and drop the ones that had none. Will be
done in a followup patch.

In root_nfs_name() it does the following:

In the original code if (strlen(buf) + strlen(cp) == NFS_MAXPATHLEN)
then the sprintf() would lead to an overflow. Generally the rest of the
code assumes that the path can have NFS_MAXPATHLEN (1024) characters and
a NUL terminator so the fix is to add space to the nfs_export_path[]
buffer.

perf symbols: Improve debug image search when loading symbols
Changes:
* Simplification of the main search loop on dso__load()
* Replace the search with a 2-pass search:
* First, try to find an image with a proper symtab.
* Second, repeat the search, accepting dynsym.
A second scan should only ever happen when needed debug images are
missing from the buildid cache or stale, i.e., when the cache is out of
sync.
Currently, the second scan also happens when using separated debug
images, since the caching logic doesn't currently know how to cache
those. Improvements to the cache behaviour ought to solve that.

perf tools: Factor out buildid reading and make it implicit in dso__load
If we have a buildid, then we never want to load an image which has no buildid,
or which has a different buildid, so it makes sense for the check to be built
into dso__load and not done separately. This is fine for old distros which
don't use buildid at all since we do no check in that case.
This refactoring also alleviates some subtle race condition issues by not
opening ELF images twice to check the buildid and then load the symbols, which
could lead to weirdness if an image is replaced under our feet.

CRED: Fix __task_cred()'s lockdep check and banner comment
Fix __task_cred()'s lockdep check by removing the following validation
condition:
lockdep_tasklist_lock_is_held()
as commit_creds() does not take the tasklist_lock, and nor do most of the
functions that call it, so this check is pointless and it can prevent
detection of the RCU lock not being held if the tasklist_lock is held.
Instead, add the following validation condition:
task->exit_state >= 0
to permit the access if the target task is dead and therefore unable to change
its own credentials.
Fix __task_cred()'s comment to:
(1) discard the bit that says that the caller must prevent the target task
from being deleted. That shouldn't need saying.
(2) Add a comment indicating the result of __task_cred() should not be passed
directly to get_cred(), but rather than get_task_cred() should be used
instead.
Also put a note into the documentation to enforce this point there too.

CRED: Fix get_task_cred() and task_state() to not resurrect dead credentials
It's possible for get_task_cred() as it currently stands to 'corrupt' a set of
credentials by incrementing their usage count after their replacement by the
task being accessed.
What happens is that get_task_cred() can race with commit_creds():
However, since a tasks credentials are generally not changed very often, we can
reasonably make use of a loop involving reading the creds pointer and using
atomic_inc_not_zero() to attempt to increment it if it hasn't already hit zero.
If successful, we can safely return the credentials in the knowledge that, even
if the task we're accessing has released them, they haven't gone to the RCU
cleanup code.
We then change task_state() in procfs to use get_task_cred() rather than
calling get_cred() on the result of __task_cred(), as that suffers from the
same problem.
Without this change, a BUG_ON in __put_cred() or in put_cred_rcu() can be
tripped when it is noticed that the usage count is not zero as it ought to be,
for example:
ALSA: hda - Add a PC-beep workaround for ASUS P5-V
ASUS P5-V provides a SSID that unexpectedly matches with the value
compilant with Realtek's specification. Thus the driver interprets
it badly, resulting in non-working PC beep.
This patch adds a white-list for such a case; a white-list of known
devices with working PC beep.

ARM: Add barriers to io{read,write}{8,16,32} accessors as well
The ioread/iowrite accessors also need barriers as they're used in
place of readl/writel et.al. in portable drivers. Create __iormb()
and __iowmb() which are conditionally defined to be barriers dependent
on ARM_DMA_MEM_BUFFERABLE, and always use these macros in the accessors.

ARM: 6273/1: Add barriers to the I/O accessors if ARM_DMA_MEM_BUFFERABLE
When the coherent DMA buffers are mapped as Normal Non-cacheable
(ARM_DMA_MEM_BUFFERABLE enabled), buffer accesses are no longer ordered
with Device memory accesses causing failures in device drivers that do
not use the mandatory memory barriers before starting a DMA transfer.
LKML discussions led to the conclusion that such barriers have to be
added to the I/O accessors:
This patch introduces a wmb() barrier to the write*() I/O accessors to
handle the situations where Normal Non-cacheable writes are still in the
processor (or L2 cache controller) write buffer before a DMA transfer
command is issued. For the read*() accessors, a rmb() is introduced
after the I/O to avoid speculative loads where the driver polls for a
DMA transfer ready bit.

ARM: 6272/1: Convert L2x0 to use the IO relaxed operations
This patch is in preparation for a subsequent patch which adds barriers
to the I/O accessors. Since the mandatory barriers may do an L2 cache
sync, this patch avoids a recursive call into l2x0_cache_sync() via the
write*() accessors and wmb() and a call into l2x0_cache_sync() with the
l2x0_lock held.

This patch introduces readl*_relaxed()/write*_relaxed() as the main I/O
accessors (when __mem_pci is defined). The standard read*()/write*()
macros are now based on the relaxed accessors.
This patch is in preparation for a subsequent patch which adds barriers
to the I/O accessors.

ecryptfs: Bugfix for error related to ecryptfs_hash_buckets
The function ecryptfs_uid_hash wrongly assumes that the
second parameter to hash_long() is the number of hash
buckets instead of the number of hash bits.
This patch fixes that and renames the variable
ecryptfs_hash_buckets to ecryptfs_hash_bits to make it
clearer.

x86,kgdb: Fix hw breakpoint regression
HW breakpoints events stopped working correctly with kgdb
as a result of commit: 018cbffe6819f6f8db20a0a3acd9bab9bfd667e4
(Merge commit 'v2.6.33' into perf/core).
The regression occurred because the behavior changed for setting
NOTIFY_STOP as the return value to the die notifier if the breakpoint
was known to the HW breakpoint API. Because kgdb is using the HW
breakpoint API to register HW breakpoints slots, it must also now
implement the overflow_handler call back else kgdb does not get to see
the events from the die notifier.
The kgdb_ll_trap function will be changed to be general purpose code
which can allow an easy way to implement the hw_breakpoint API
overflow call back.

If we don't need a huge amount of memory in ->readdir() then
we can use kmalloc rather than vmalloc to allocate it. This
should cut down on the greater overheads associated with
vmalloc for smaller directories.
We may be able to eliminate vmalloc entirely at some stage,
but this is easy to do right away.
Also using GFP_NOFS to avoid any issues wrt to deleting inodes
while under a glock, and suggestion from Linus to factor out
the alloc/dealloc.
I've given this a test with a variety of different sized
directories and it seems to work ok.

Enable PC-beep as default for hardwares that aren't compliant with the
SSID value Realtek requires. In such a case, better to enable the beep
to avoid a regression.
ALSA: hda - Don't register beep input device when no beep is available
We check now the availability of PC beep and skip the build of beep
mixers, but the driver still registers the input device. This should
be checked as well.

davinci: da850/omap-l138 evm: account for DEFDCDC{2,3} being tied high
Per the da850/omap-l138 Beta EVM SOM schematic, the DEFDCDC2 and DEFDCDC3 lines are tied high. This leads to a 3.3V IO and 1.2V CVDD
voltage.
Pass the right platform data to the TPS6507x driver so it can operate
on the DEFDCDC{2,3}_HIGH register to read and change voltage levels.

In TPS6507x, depending on the status of DEFDCDC{2,3} pin either DEFDCDC{2,3}_LOW or DEFDCDC{2,3}_HIGH register needs to be read or
programmed to change the output voltage.
The current driver assumes DEFDCDC{2,3} pins are always tied low
and thus operates only on DEFDCDC{2,3}_LOW register. This need
not always be the case (as is found on OMAP-L138 EVM).
Unfortunately, software cannot read the status of DEFDCDC{2,3} pins.
So, this information is passed through platform data depending on
how the board is wired.
The behavior of Nvidia HDMI codec regarding the pin-detection unsol events
is based on the old HD-audio spec, i.e. PD bit indicates only the update
and doesn't show the current state. Since the current code assumes the
new behavior, the pin-detection doesn't work relialby with these h/w.
This patch adds a flag for indicating the old spec, and fixes the issue
by checking the pin-detection explicitly for such hardware.

The MPC85xx EDAC driver is missing module device aliases, so the driver
won't load automatically on boot. This patch fixes the issue by adding
proper MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() macros.

drivers/rtc/rtc-rx8581.c: fix setdatetime
Fix the logic while writing new date/time to the chip. The driver
incorrectly wrote back register values to different registers and even
with wrong mask. The patch adds clearing of the VLF register, which
should be cleared if all date/time values are set.

Move the call to ddebug_remove_module() down into free_module(). In this
way it should be called from all error paths. Currently, we are missing
the remove if the module init routine fails.

This fixes an issue triggered by running concurrent syncs. One of the syncs
would go through while the other would just hang indefinitely. In any case, we
never actually want to wake a single waiter, so the *_all functions should
be used.

The etr events switch-to-local and sync-check disable the synchronous clock
and schedule a work queue that tries to get the clock back into sync.
If another switch-to-local or sync-check event occurs while the work queue
function etr_work_fn still runs the eacr.es bit and the clock_sync_word can
become inconsistent because check_sync_clock only uses the clock_sync_word
to determine if the clock is in sync or not. The second pass of the
etr_work_fn will reset the eacr.es bit but will leave the clock_sync_word
intact. Fix this race by moving the reset of the eacr.es bit into the
switch-to-local and sync-check functions and by checking the eacr.es bit
as well to decide if the clock needs to be synced.
